AT OUR SCHEDULE OF THE DAY.

Opening/Gathering Time: Pledge of Allegiance, calendar, weather chart,
songs, show and tell, flash card drill, etc. This involves story
time, listening, following directions, language experiences, creative
thinking, and introducing unit of theme study. |
Recess: Outside play, organized games and large motor
activities, learning
dances. Fitness exercise and aerobic activities are enjoyed inside
during wet weather. |
Academic Time: Emphasis on small motor development through cutting,
pasting and writing. Learning math/number concepts with object
manipulation and workbooks. Learning letters and letter sounds, listening comprehension, sight word recognition, reading skill-building
exercises. Phonetic and Whole Language approach to reading. |
Learning Centers: The fun and education continue as children rotate
through all of our exciting learning stations! Discovery center provides a
hands-on activity related to the Unit of Study. In the Take Apart center
real tools uncover parts inside electronic objects. Computers center
complements academics and aids in hand-eye coordination. Listening
center presents books on tape for children to enjoy another reinforcing
reading activity. Dramatic Play center is a place to dress up,
create stores and role play. Learning games of memory, matching,
sequencing and cognitive exercises. Individual and small group
activities of the child's choice: books, puzzles, flannel board
stories, puppets, play dough, coloring, quiet manipulative, etc.) |
Explorations: We dive into hands-on experiences with Cooking, Arts
& Crafts, Science or Social Studies which all center around the daily
Unit of Study. |

Enrichment Time: Small group or one on one review of morning concepts.
Math and Reading is reinforced through a variety of sensory
activities. We follow-up with any missing assignments not completed earlier that day.
